About Little Artists, NYC

Design, artwork, crafts and children have been a constant thread throughout Little Artists NYC founder and lead teacher, Amber Rodriguez’, life. An aunt to eight and a godmother to five, Ms. Rodriguez learned the importance of art appreciation from her mother who among other things is an interior designer, chef, gardener, and accomplished crafter. From a very young age, Ms. Rodriguez joined her mother in her love for creativity by exploring various art forms and participating in local craft fairs.

After spending her high school and college years working as a part-time child care provider, Ms. Rodriguez followed her love for design and moved to New York to pursue a career in fashion. Twelve years later, she has enjoyed a successful career as an accessories editor and director at top fashion magazines including Harper’s Bazaar, Lucky, Teen Vogue, People Style Watch, and Allure to name a few.

Throughout the years, Ms. Rodriguez’ family, friends, and colleagues would turn to her for advice on party planning and activities for their children. “Aunt Amber” was always there to provide them with unique, customized ideas. Looking for a change of pace from the fashion industry, Ms. Rodriguez decided to incorporate her love for children and creativity by establishing Little Artists NYC.
